Parish Celebrates the “Year of the Dog”

Lunar New Year Celebration
Sunday, February 18
5:30 p.m. Mass
New Year’s Party, Conference Center Hall

Food, Entertainment, Live Music, Fun for All

If you have never been to our Vietnamese Mass or to the New Year’s party, make plans now to join the Vietnamese community for a festive evening – and make it an annual tradition in your household as well. The celebration begins with 5:30 p.m. Mass, followed by a celebration in the Conference Center Hall. Wonderful food, terrific entertainment, live music, and lucky money for children 12 years of age and under – all free of charge.

Called Tết in Vietnamese, the lunar New Year celebration is a day of thanksgiving for all the blessings one has received and to remember one’s ancestors. For the Vietnamese, Tết is unlike any single Western holiday, but a fusion of the American Thanksgiving and Christmas – in a traditional month-long celebration of prosperity, spring, rebirth, and familial ancestry.
