Cultural Outreach Project

"The joys and hopes, the grief and anguish of the people of our time, especially of those who are poor or afflicted, are the joys and hopes, the grief and anguish of the followers of Christ as well."

Gaudium et Spes, Second Vatican Council, 1965

To increase awareness of the needs of the “least among us,” the parish began a new initiative, the annual Cultural Outreach Program, in 2008. St. Joseph the Worker is home to people from all over the world. Each year the parish identifies a need in a country where many in the parish have roots and commits to a fundraising project in collaboration with a local charity. In addition to the outreach purpose, the project enables the community to learn more about the countries many of our parishioners come from.
